Villa Description
For those who appreciate art and architecture, Dos Jaguares is like living in a piece of sculpture. The harmony of its forms and ancient Mayan design references envelopes your healing experience. Designed by California architect, Tony Gonzales, the villa was created with ideas drawn from the ancient Mayan sites of Palenque, Uxmal and Chichen Itza and placed within a metric grid bringing mathematical harmony and balance. This villa reflects the owner's explorations to Mayan sites and love of the area for nearly thirty years. Ocean breezes, tropical gardens and lots of living space make it the perfect base to experience the true feel of the Riviera Maya.
Dos Jaguares is 5,000 square feet of white and silver marble floors from Durango, Mexico, custom built Honduran mahogany cabinets and furniture, photographs on the walls created by the owners of famous Mayan and Olmec sites transferred to canvas and art deco stylized glass blocks using ocean and sky colors brought from Miami. These art deco blocks are used throughout the villa and are inset in tall columns at the entrance of the villa and also on the beachfront. One of the many "magic" parts of the villa is the upstairs composed of Mayan arches inspired by the Palace at Palenque. With the use of lighting, they have a special glow at night, as does the central courtyard with stylized steps and tropical landscaping.
The upstairs Master Suite is huge, as is the bathroom with a tub you can soak in while enjoying a view of the ocean, or, you can experience the fabulous open-air garden shower. This suite also has a large oceanfront balcony with a great view of the turquoise Caribbean. There is also the option to relax under the palapa hammocks downstairs in the tropical garden setting. The choice is yours! The upstairs Guestroom has a garden view, private bath and a small outdoor deck to watch the sunset. There is also a second Guest bedroom upstairs with two single beds and two futons. Downstairs is the living room, an extra bathroom, dining room, kitchen, and two guest bedrooms, each with private bath. One bedroom has a great view of the ocean and you can walk right out onto the beach. The other has a private entrance off of the central garden that offers extra quiet and security Dos Jaguares - a thoroughly designed villa for family living at it's best!

“What a
wonderful family vacation! Beautiful 5 bedroom house with a tranquil hammock
zen courtyard, a separate studio with it's own restroom and shower. Cold AC in
all the bedrooms, firm beds, tons of space and amazing architecture! Perfect
communication with management and staff with lots of great exploration options.
Very clean and the maid also cooked an incredible meal for us and our cousins
family. Felt very safe and loved the beach and kayaks too. Swam with sea
turtles, went to Tulum Central often as it was a short drive, and saw tons of
Cenote's! We recommend the Monkey Sanctuary with a swim in their very unique
Cenote after seeing lots of other exotic animals too. Too much to see
and need to go back!”

This home was a great place, a great location, and a great deal! The home is stylish, large, bright and airy. The bedrooms are huge and well-spaced to provide privacy, etc. 5-minute drive to Akumal Bay, or a 30-minute walk along the beach. Our host-managers were great as well, stopped by the morning after we checked in and gave us all kinds of great info and tips, etc. The housekeeper was fantastic and cleaned every day (except Sunday, good for her!). I would recommend this home without hesitation, there was really nothing wrong with it. The next time we plan a trip to this area we'll definitely be looking to book this home again. Thank you to Rhett and Eddie! Our stay was great, way beyond our expectations. Thank Rosa as well for putting up with us and our never ending laundry :-) and the meal she cooked was fantastic and a great experience
