The Yucatan Peninsula offers unbeatable vacation options and the fishing waters are famous worldwide! Peak fishing season runs from early-March through early-July, when Sailfish and Marlin are migrating through the waterway between Cozumel and mainland. During these months, the Puerto Aventuras marina fills up with yachts from several states and countries with one thing in mind - SAILFISH! This means multiple shots at sailfish per day and 15-20 is not at unusual. Puerto Aventuras has been featured in most saltwater fishing publications, such as Marlin, Saltwater Sportsman, Sport Fishing, as well as on ESPN.
What most people do not know is that the off-season fishing is just as great! Enjoy a few hours in the beautiful Caribbean drift fishing for dinner. Catch Grouper, Yellowtail, Mutton, Grey, and Cubera Snapper - all excellent fighters and superb food fish. On a beautiful, calm day there is nothing more relaxing and fun (especially for kids) than drift fishing in our Caribbean waters. Sometimes when the bite is really good you will see the fish schooling under and around the boat . Kids get a big kick out of catching and feeding the reef fish.
The Salty Hooker features full electronics and a pipe welders tower with a Murray Brothers fighting chair, Rupp double spreader outriggers, Penn down rigger, a built-in live well, satellite radio and a large bathroom. Available tackle includes trolling 5-6 Shimano TLP 20-30's, Penn 4/0 with wire line for wahoo and grouper and 2 Penn 9/0's for swordfish and shark. It is powered by twin Volvo 210 hp diesel engines (inboard). All boats are USCG safety equipped. Accommodates 8 passengers.
